HQ: Minneapolis, MN NOW PLAYING: One Last Breath EP (myspace.com/jamestownstory) THE STORY SO FAR: Looking to record acoustic tracks he'd written on his own, vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Dane Schmidt soon realized his coffeehouse strummers were missing an essential element-strings. Since teaming up with violinist Kieren Smith in 2005, the Minnesota duo have toured in 35 states, recorded a couple of EPs and a full-length. Keeping it in the family, Schmidt's brother Jordan (All Time Low) co-produced all their recordings. WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: Just because Jamestown Story's music is acoustic-based doesn't mean it doesn't have any bite-or pop-punk sensibilities. Online music consumers would agree, as the band have received a combined 7 million plays on PureVolume and MySpace, and their 2004 self-titled EP was consistently a Top-10 seller on Smartpunk.com. "It's harder to make it in this industry if you are original and unique, but I'm up for the challenge," enthuses Schmidt. "Plus, we have a violin..." [RL] YOU LIKE?
