HQ: San Diego, CA NOW PLAYING: Settle The Score EP THE STORY SO FAR: Spawned from casual conversation outside the dorms at San Diego State University in 2004, Fight Fair's members came together from a wide range of bands-everything from hardcore to pop-punk. After a few lineup changes and some touring, FF put out their first EP, Settle The Score. "[We] were looking to start a project whose sound was very uplifting and positive while still maintaining the aggressive sound we grew up with," explains vocalist Alex Bigman. WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: FF's sound is mostly melodic with memorable gang-vocal choruses built in. However, the band never lose site of their harder roots, peppering their tracks with growls, screams and furious riffing. All those elements add up to a diverse fanbase. "Our sound has mainstream appeal while still gaining respect from the underground listeners," says Bigman. "Our audience usually consists of 13-year-old teenyboppers as well as hardcore kids. It's pretty sweet." -Rachel Lux YOU LIKE? YOU'LL LIKE: NEW FOUND GLORY / COMEBACK KID / HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS Official Website: http://www.myspace.com/fightfair
