HQ: Philadelphia, PA NOW PLAYING: It's A Secret To Everyone EP THE STORY SO FAR: For a second, there was a moment when The Scenic-a burgeoning Philly indie pop outfit- could've collapsed on themselves. After a highly productive first year that saw the four-piece grow to five, record their debut EP with Mike Watts (As Tall As Lions, the Fold) and be featured twice on mtvU, the band parted ways with their vocalist and founding member Andrew Carroll. But when former Rory frontman Jeremy Menard recently stepped in, the band went into a creative rejuvenation-postponing a winter tour in favor of writing their full-length debut. "We're going through an exciting transition right now," says drummer Shane Reynolds. WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: Sure, members of the band have played with Fall Out Boy, Dashboard Confessional and even at Bamboozle, but Menard, Reynolds, guitarists Dan Wolf and Jake Sciscio and bassist Frank Romantino are looking only to the future. "We continually pump out catchy, fun sing-along tunes," says Reynolds. "We're poised for a big breakout year." [Tim Karan] YOU LIKE?
