HQ: Rockford, IL NOW PLAYING: We Are The Plague THE STORY SO FAR: It all began in late 2001 as "a drunken agreement between friends," or at least that's how drummer/programmer Eliott Porter remembers the genesis of the Moment--an eclectic, electronic-infused indie-rock duo out of northern Illinois. Shortly thereafter, Porter and vocalist/guitarist P.J. Heckinger found themselves touring with the likes of CKY, Moneen and Lucero. WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: They're not really hardcore. They're not really electronica. But they're not really not either one. Wielding sampled beats and layers of complex arrangements and ferocious vocals, the Moment emit a sonic boom that's as impressive coming from just two guys as it is difficult to classify. "We've written music from techno to grind and rock hybrids that fall in between," says Porter. "We haven't settled on any one overall sound." [TJK] YOU LIKE?
