HQ: Buffalo, NY NOW PLAYING: Assorted demos THE STORY SO FAR: Metalcore to folk-inspired punk is a leap rarely made in this scene, but former It Dies Today frontman Nicholas Brooks decided to give it a shot when he formed the Americana-tinged Queen City Station with five friends from Buffalo, New York. "We had nothing to lose in our dying city," says drummer Ray Lampke. "We were influenced by our surroundings and roots rock on a broad spectrum." WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: Though it's only been a year since Brooks, Lampke, guitarists Zak Collins and Corey Dibiase, bassist Josh Mullin and keyboardist Matt Folger came together, they've been playing their raspy, head-bobbing, beer-swilling rock to eager crowds upstate and elsewhere since their inception. "The fans have been completely devout since day one," says Lampke. "They see something fresh, new and unique in us, and we see the same in them." [TJK] YOU LIKE?
