HQ: Naples, FL. NOW PLAYING: Life Of The Party THE STORY SO FAR: Since forming two years ago, Naples, Florida, pop-punks Vega Under Fire haven't had the best luck with tour vans. "On our second national tour, our van and trailer blew just about all the tires and we had to borrow then buy a new van to make it home," says bassist Jason Giardina. "Then on our last tour, we spent over $3,000 fixing our van the five times it broke down." Obviously the roadtrip gods haven't heard the quintet's patented brand of feel-good, dance-inspired punk. The same can't be said of any of the fans who caught VUF sharing stages with the likes of Forever The Sickest Kids and HORSE The Band. WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: The word "angst" isn't even in their vocabulary. Vocalist/guitarist Brian Blount, guitarist Brad Shellito, bassist Giardina, synth op Ryan Birmingham and drummer Aaron Maloney play the type of sunny pop that requires a legitimate positive attitude to properly convey. Luckily, they've got it. "We value music and all music more than anything else in our lives," says Giardina. "We want people to lose themselves in the music." [TJK] YOU LIKE?
