HQ: Valparaiso, IN NOW PLAYING: We Delete; Erase EP (www.myspace.com/nativein) THE STORY SO FAR: While most of their contemporaries are focused on pop offshoots, atmospheric Indiana indie-rockers Native have more in common with Minus The Bear than Motion City Soundtrack. "We're into creating music that's both layered and thick, but accessible to anyone," says guitarist Ed O'Neil. "We believe music can be complex, but also very easy to understand." WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: For a band just a little more than a year old, Native play with the confidence and prowess of a group of lifers-and they keep the same touring schedule. "We've toured the East Coast and the Midwest three times," says O'Neil. "We play at least two shows every week in various states."
