HQ:San Diego, CA NOW PLAYING: The Antidote THE STORY SO FAR: The Kings To You chaps are no jokers. They're almost old pros. Dave Arthur (vocals, guitarist), Mike Pena (guitar) and Danny Pena (bass) jammed together in Dismissed for nearly six years before hooking up with Justin Beeson (drums) two years ago, creating the energetic pop-rock of Kings To You. Plus, if Arthur sounds familiar, it's because he chimed in on all the hooky parts of As I Lay Dying's Shadows Are Security, while simultaneously avoiding Jack Black comparisons. Well, mostly. WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: The heartfelt emo-punk found on their debut full-length The Antidote has as much vibrancy and power as arena-filling counterparts. While the Kings aren't filling stadiums yet, you should catch 'em anyway. Why? "We have a goofy, 6-foot-4-inch bass player that usually makes our live shows interesting," says Arthur. That's why.
