Love Me Electric

HQ: Chicago, IL
NOW PLAYING: Medicine And Magic EP

THE STORY SO FAR: After years playing as a three-piece, brothers Joe and Dan Nicorata (guitar and vocals/bass, respectively) and Bob McNellis (drums), added long-time friend Mark Follenweider on guitar and sometime-sub Matt Cargill on keys. With a revamped lineup, the band adopted the name Love Me Electric and recorded their debut EP Medicine And Magic. "Ever since, we have been playing shows, writing new songs and all trying to finish college," says Joe about the band's post-recording activities.

WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: The band have been practicing their brand of synth-laced power-pop long enough to get a handle on a good hook and tear up stages with the likes of the Junior Varsity, Boys Like Girls and Sullivan. And Love Me Electric know what's most important in life, too: "So many bands today take themselves too seriously," says Joe. "We don't want to compete with our peers, we just want to have a good time." Rachel Lux
