HQ:Rancho Cucamonga, CA NOW PLAYING: Before You Go EP THE STORY SO FAR: Conceived as laptop demos and incubated in a rehearsal studio, Andrew Capra (vocals/guitar), Robert Lerdsuwanrut (guitar), Mark Mikin (bass/keys) and Abraham Casillas (drums) eventually emerged as indie-pop group Hopefield. The quartet honed their alternately hard/soft edge in the studio with Paul Miner (Thrice, New Found Glory) who produced their debut EP, Before You Go, which is already leaving its mark. "[Before You Go] outsold several major-label favorites on Smartpunk it its first week," Capra says. WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: Hopefield have played with scene staples like Forgive Durden, Cartel and Sugarcult, but they don't limit who they'll share a bill with. "We even played a date with the Game [and] Snoop Dogg," boasts Capra. "Our cred knows no bounds." Capra also advises fans to check out that cred in person: "Our live show brings an arena-band feel to wherever we play," he says. "I think it's a delicate art, especially live, and I feel few bands pull it off." [RL] YOU LIKE?
