HQ: Dawsonville, GA NOW PLAYING: The Status EP THE STORY SO FAR: Sometimes, all it takes is a new name. Brothers Ben (vocals/guitar) and Danny (bass) had been playing with longtime friends Andy Thompson (guitar) and Mike Felker (drums) under the moniker "Nova" since 2003. But during the summer of 2006, they changed their name to the Status and soon after, began gigging all over the Atlanta area and running with a powerful friend-Bayside frontman Anthony Raneri, who produced their EP and took the band on tour. WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: You know how you get a catchy song in your head, it just won't leave and you kinda don't want it to? Atlanta can relate, considering the radio play the Status' catchy single "Perfect Day" has received on WNNX 99.7. "We bring to the table our unique drive to be original by writing timeless melodies," says Ben. "We create music that we love, but also music that affects and inspires the people that listen."
