HQ: Fort Worth, TXNOW PLAYING: Assorted demos (myspace.com/skyeatsairplane) THE STORY SO FAR: Sky Eats Airplane began as most high school bands do: In a bedroom. In 2005, guitarist Lee Duck and the band's former vocalist, Brack TK, began mixing and matching metal riffs with electronica beats. Soon, the duo had self-produced their debut album, Everything Perfect On The Wrong Day, and began receiving internet buzz. "We [then] came to realize how this could be a career and not just a hobby," says Duck. WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: After TK left, Duck continued cranking out tunes, and just this year assembled a full five-piece ensemble. But even with an additional guitarist, Sky Eats Airplane have maintained their roots in keyboard-based hardcore, which bassist John Erickson says will always be the group's foundation. "Most bands use [electronica] kind of sparingly or where sometimes you can barely even notice it," he says. "We have ours in a place where it's just as important as the guitars." [CF] YOU LIKE?
