Fate Of Angels

THE STORY SO FAR: Guitarist Josh Kidney says Fate Of Angels changed their name in 2006 for other reasons, but we think they wanted some celestial involvement. In four year's time, drummer John Wooten was deployed to Iraq (when he returned, replacement Matt Grant moved to guitar), their trailer and equipment were stolen and the band-rounded out by bassist Anthony Estrada-lost a practice space and a lead vocalist before long-time friend Todd Laird stepped in. "We've been through a lot," says Kidney. "But I don't think I'd have it any other way."

WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: They make a point not to swear onstage and they wear neckties and vests no matter how many other bands snicker, but FOA allow their "loud and rude" side out via their frenetic sing-along pop-rock amalgam. "We know people expect to be entertained," says Kidney. "So we try to keep talking at a minimum and the music at maximum intensity."
