EP (myspace.com/whichwayishome) THE STORY SO FAR: The faces behind frontman Eric Nicolau aren't the only things that changed since he founded Which Way Is Home with two high school friends in suburban Detroit during 2004. Sometime before recording the Are You Listening? EP in late 2006, things-from the band's sound to the venues they played-expanded. "We went through a big transformation," he says. "We began playing bigger and better places, establishing new fans and finding our niche and sound." WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: Because the sound that Nicolau, bassist Ryan Ballard and drummer Lucas Zell unleash is an incredibly catchy and occasionally epic brand of emo underpinned rock. Imagine Dashboard Confessional with '90s-era distortion and the occasional electronic urgency. "We're not about bells and whistles," says Nicolau.
