HQ: Columbus, OH
NOW PLAYING: Rock Like A Party Star EP (myspace.com/citylights)
THE STORY SO FAR: This Ohio pop-punk quintet came together in late 2008 with an agenda to bring the "punk" back to pop-punk. "We started at a time when pop-punk had drifted more toward pop music," says vocalist Oshie Bichar. "When we started jamming our first songs, we wanted to retain the speed, energy and fun that was present in bands we grew up listening to." Clearly they did something right because Mayday Parade guitarist Brooks Betts decided to manage them.
WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: They've racked up quite a resume playing with diverse bands such as the Plain White T's, Dance Gavin Dance and E For Explosion, and even played their hometown date of the AP Fall Ball. "There's a lot of genre-bending going on in the scene right now," says Bichar. "We're happy that we don't have to be shy about pulling in influences from all different styles of music."
