You'd never guess that technical hardcore quintet the Syncope Threshold morphed out of a pop-punk band. But once the current lineup was in place, guitarist Tommy Borboa says there was no question as to their direction. "What comes out is what comes out, and it's natural to us," he says. "Some would say we try too hard to be different, but we're not trying at all."
