Radical anti-gay group targets All Time Low

The explanation for the protest on "Godhatesfags.com" references an Altpress.com news brief and reads in part:
"'All Time Low frontman suffers concussion' so says the bloggers and Alternative Press reporter. You may be wondering what in the world WBC cares about these losers - so let me break it down for you. How do you know how far gone a society is? You look at their social icons. When you look at these gender-confused, haphazard freakazoids then you can plainly see that america is DOOMED, for real! This is the final generation, and a little concussion is the least of their worries. Here is what they have to look forward to when this once great nation finally falls - for her fall is already started."
A WBC member tweeted to ATL frontman Alex Gaskarth that "God Hates Fag Enablers! WBC will picket All Time Low's concert in Philly." Gaskarth replied, "Stay home. Intolerance isn't welcome at our show."

wow. some people really need to get a life. alex handled it perfectly and i just saw them last night and jack and alex were talking about screwing girls, so i dont think they're into guys. they're extreamly talented and i love them! i might have to picket right next to WBC picketing ATL against WBC. suck on that.
yes, this church has the right to display their views, just as all time low has the right to broadcast theirs. but it's disheartening to know that even in an age where we're finally beginning to overcome social barriers, there's groups like these who don't feel that everyone deserves fair and equal treatment, and instead waste their time targeting those who do believe in that.
its just silly that if they actually listened to any of their songs, they'll find one's about a female stripper, one's about deciding whether or not to hookup with a girl, and one's just straight up wanting to get on a girl. if that's gay, then sign me up as a target for the random gay bashing. I'm a proud gay activist and this is one of the many reasons i don't support religions. groups such as the KKK say that anyone colored aren't part of society, and now these groups have the nerve to say gay people aren't, and accuse members of an amazing band for what reason exactly? is it illegial to throw things at people cuz i can't wait to make those protesters regret coming to our night.
I think this is sickening. Other than these boys being far from gay, radicals shouldn't have the right to protest personal preferences. What religion does to the world today... It's deplorable.
This is absolutely ridiculous. I am disgusted with what is happening. I do not hold a specific view on gay rights and agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinions. But the fact that the WBC is taking it to an offensive level toward ATL is HORRIBLE. They are being hypocritical, discrimination is not welcome and Alex really handled the situation well. All Time Low is my absolute favorite band and have been for years. They have nothing that they have done to warrant this. I already have my tickets for this show where the "protest" will be held and I will be disgusted if they ruin my good time. I am all for freedom of speech, but give it a break, WBC.
I do not enjoy All Time Low but those "Fag Haters" need to just disappear. They are completely ridiculous and I know they have the right to protest and everything but seriously? They have to target a show? Those people are morons.

Westbro also hates Jews (claiming that Christians are the only real Jews (nice way to reimagine history!)), Islamic people, America, foreigners and just about everyone who isn't in their group. actually...i retract my previous suggestion. the KKK actually marched through my college the year before i went, and everyone said the best thing to do was not give them the attention they want, at all. so whoever reads this post and is going to this show, no matter who says what to you, and no matter what ridiculous nonsense comes from their mouths or is displayed on signs and whatnot, don't react to them. negative people feed off of negative energy, and i hope you all join me in proving to those people that we are better than them in a non-hostile way. I am a Christian and I completely abhor the Westboro Baptist Church/God Hates Fags people. I don't think the teachings of Jesus promote this kind of behavior at all. I hate how they have sayings on their signs that say "God hates you". That in my mind is despicable. God does not hate people, He hates sin. I believe that homosexuality is fundamentally wrong, but I don't believe that they should be treated rudely or should not be associated with. I agree with what people have posted already about religion. I hate religion. Jesus is however not a religion, it is a relationship and a lifestyle, and therefore I follow the teachings of Jesus and NOT the teachings of churches or religious
establishments. In fact, Jesus is one of the most anti-establishment people in history. You only have to read the Bible and read about Jesus for yourself and you will be able to tell that Westboro Baptist Church is extremely far away from what Christianity should be.
see the WBC does this to "get attention"... it's people like that that give the world a bad name, not all time low... and i'm sure "G-d loves everyone"... and i completely agree with other post and don't give this people the time of day... completely ignore them and their "ways" and they'll realize that nobody wants to hear them and also alex handled the whole situation very well...
WBC is such a SAD group of people. But HUGE props to Alex and the rest of ATL for handling it SO WELL. That takes some real maturity.

I will say that I am not a huge fan of their music but just because my music taste is different does not make them "fags" in my mind. The members of the WBC need to find something better to do like prove that there is a GOD!
Props to Alex and All Time Low for handling this so well. WBC is entitled to their own opinions, but I think that this was taking it a little to far.

The churches that are known as baptist usualy are know as the ones with people singing and enjoying themselves as they worshipdont but i searched WBC pics. and there is not one black person in WBC protest pictures. they are just the minority that still has yet to come to grips with reality and see that everyone is different. So if they decide to hate these groups of people by pictures it looks as if they may have a problem with peoples skin color too. 2012 may be true may not who knows for sure just enjoy life and be happy dont be one of these d-bags and hate others and find reasons to bitch. I think these people are so ignorant that it's actually hilarious. Coming from someone who isn't much of a fan of ATL after their release of their sophomore album, WBC's just plain stupid. They don't seem to understand that it's just a fad - all of this is just a fad. I bet you half of their supporters were involved in fads in their youth (by youth, I mean pre-midlife crisis where everything seemed to go downhill for them). They're like a modern-day KKK - completely close-minded and not open to people of other beliefs. Personally, I am a Christian. Do I support gay rights? Yes, I do. Why should non-supporters limit the lives of others? It doesn't affect them, therefore it shouldn't matter.
This is disheartening.. slightly because I'm an ATL fan but largely because it's this kind of group that gives ALL Christians a bad name. We're not all like that.

i feel that people are allowed to have their own views but what WBC did was not acceptable. they are extreamly single minded with their name calling, and the way they practice their beliefs. Im glad that ATL handled it well, and we will see how the show goes on the 6th. I am saddend that things like this still happen in this day and age, its not the fact of being a fan of ATL or not, its a fact of civil rights so shame on all of you who were like yaaaa im glad this happened b.c i hate ATL. blahhh this is dumb that we are still arguing this type of thing in 2009.

First off, I'm sexually straight but emotionally bi-curious and second, I've disliked the WBC since I heard of their organization a while back. They aren't even Christian. I mean, I don't believe in gay marriage, but does that mean I'm homophobic? No. It's all just a different matter of opinion. There are good Christians out there who try to be empathetic towards those with SSA (meanwhile not condoning the acts themselves. Love the sinner, hate the sin.) But these freaks make Christians look like monsters (which MOST are NOT.) ATL is a good band (and not all that offensive.) Why can't these idiots take up their cause against Marilyn Manson again? Now, THAT would be hilarious! ^^

I think whatever that group is saying about All Time Low is BS. They Don't have any reason to be going after that band. They're not gay but they're not homophobes either, they're nice dudes who don't care whether you're into girls or guys, that doesn't makes them enablers, it makes them tolerant people. Sure they say some provocative things, I saw them live and they spent five minutes talking about jacks penis and it was the funniest thing I saw until Cobra Starship came out and Gabe started talking. Wow, I am amazed that WBC targeted them, because they are not even close to being the most "gender-confused freaks" in the music industry today. They could have gone after a MUCH more homosexual band if that's what they wanted.
