Matt Pond PA promise free digital EP; My Chemical Romance cover posted

Philly indie-pop act Matt Pond PA have promised the release next week of a free digital EP, aptly titled The Freeep.

The band also recently recorded a cover of My Chemical Romance's "I'm Not Okay" for Engine Room Recordings' Guilt By Association 2 compilation. You can stream their contribution here.

Strike First signs the Rekoning

Strike First has inked Riverside, CA spelling-challenged punks the Rekoning.

To that end, the band has posted four songs from their upcoming debut full-length, Road Less Traveled, at their MySpace page. The record is set for a January 6th, 2009 release.

Pete Wentz is a daddy

Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz and his wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz welcomed their first child into the world yesterday. Their son Bronx Mowgli Wentz was born Thursday in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and measured 20.5 inches.

A representative for the couple made a statement on their behalf:
"Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for their well wishes!"

Less Than Jake announce Spring 2009 tour dates

Less Than Jake have announced the east coast dates for a Spring 2009 headlining tour.

All dates will be opened by Santa Cruz, CA reggae-punks the Expendables, with more shows in other areas of the country promised.

The band will be out in support of GNV FLA, self-released this past year on their own Sleep It Off label. They recently issued a deluxe 7" box set version of the album as well.

There are apparently also some "big as-yet-unannounced plans already in motion for 2009."
