Andrew Bird heading out on tour with Loney Dear
Alternative Press - Brian Shultz on 11/19/08 @ 1:43 PM - altpress.com
Dosh will take Loney Dear's spot on the first date, at New York City's Carnegie Hall.
Bird will release his next album, Noble Beast, January 27th, 2009 on Fat Possum. He released the Soldier On EP earlier this year on Grimsey, and prior to that, 2007's Armchair Apocrypha on Fat Possum.
Loney Dear will be supporting Dear John, coincidentally due out the same day as Noble Beast--but on Polyvinyl. Their last was 2006's self-released Sologne, though Sub Pop reissued 2005's Loney, Noir in 2007.

Mark Hoppus on Tom DeLonge: "We're reconnecting as friends"
Alternative Press - Scott Heisel on 11/18/08 @ 11:38 PM - altpress.com
"in the midst of everything else that has happened lately, tom, travis, and i have all spoken together. first through a number of phone calls, and then a couple of weeks ago we all hung out for a few hours. they've all been great, very positive conversations. we're just reconnecting as friends after four years of not talking. it's a good thing. obviously the first question for a lot of people will be "does this mean a blink-182 reunion?" the answer is none of us know. we haven't talked about it at all. right now it's just good for the three of us to see one another, reconnect, and let the past be the past. the events of the past two months supersede everything that happened before. life is too short."Blink split acrimoniously in early 2005, with Hoppus and Barker forming (+44) while DeLonge created Angels & Airwaves. Both acts are expected to release new albums in 2009.

The band recently finished mixing the record according to their Twitter page after recording it with producer Dave Fridmann, who also tracked their last proper studio effort, 2006's A City By The Light Divided on Island.
In that interim, the band's also released the CD/DVD rarities combo Kill The House Lights last year on Victory and this year's split 12" with Envy on Temporary Residence Ltd.
