AltPress Exclusive: Foxy Shazam sign to Sire; new album in 2010

Alternative Press - Scott Heisel on 9/14/09 @ 3:49 PM - altpress.com

Alternative Press has exclusively learned that Cincinnati-based spazz-rockers Foxy Shazam have inked a deal with major label Sire Records, a division of Warner Bros. Records. Among their new labelmates are Against Me!, the Used and Tegan And Sara. Sire will release the band's new, currently untitled album in early 2010.

"We wanted to go places where nobody goes," says frontman Eric Nally. "We weren't afraid to take risks with this record, because as long as you take them with confidence it will work out. Nothing is cool until it's made cool."

The band are currently on tour with the Sounds; they play Pittsburgh tonight (dates). You can currently hear a new song, "Wanna Be Angel," on the group's MySpace page.
