Panic! At The Disco announce arena tour with Bloc Party

Somewhere, a Pitchfork editor is crying: upstart Las Vegas dance-pop band Panic! At The Disco have announced their winter touring plans, and they involve the following three things:

  • Bloc Party
  • Jack's Mannequin

  • Refused, NOFX, RFTC, the Sleeping on Crank soundtrack

    On Aug. 29, Lakeshore Records will be releasing the soundtrack to the movie Crank, which comes out in theaters Sept. 1. The soundtrack will include previously released cuts from Refused, NOFX, Rocket From The Crypt and more. Up-and-comers the Sleeping contribute a new song -- a cover of the Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive" -- to the soundtrack; that song can be streamed at the soundtrack's MySpace page.     Purveyors of awesome the Hold Steady have revealed their tour itinerary for this fall in support of their forthcoming Vagrant Records debut Boys And Girls In America, out Oct. 3. The trek will kick off Sept. 30 in Hamden, Connecticut, and run all across the U.S. with a dip into Canada before concluding Oct. 30 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Accompanying the band are Sean Na Na.     Sparta add more dates with Sound Team, Lola Ray

    Sparta have announced more dates for the first leg of their upcoming tour in support of their new album, Threes, out Oct. 10 on Hollywood. The first leg will feature Sound Team and Lola Ray opening; those dates are below. The second leg will keep Sound Team on board, but will replace Lola Ray with As Tall As Lions; those shows have not yet been announced. Dates:

    New Killswitch Engage album's title, release date confirmed

    Massachusetts metalcore maestros Killswitch Engage have revealed some details of their upcoming fourth album. The disc, titled As Daylight Dies, will be released Nov. 21 on Roadrunner Records. The 12-song disc will include "This Is Absolution," "For You" and the title track.

    "It is the typical line that everyone gives you -- that this is a heavier album -- but it kind of is," KSE bassist Mike D'Antonio told MTV.com. "It's definitely way heavier. There are still the melodic choruses here and there, and there's a lot to latch onto. But it's heavy."

    The band plan on touring the U.S. this November to coincide with the album's release, but those dates are still in the pipeline; currently, the band are in the U.K. and have a Japanese/Australian tour lined up for this October, as well as a one-off date in Alaska. Dates:
