Patrick Stump arrested in Hollywood

Alternative Press - Tim Karan on 8/26/09 @ 2:01 PM - altpress.com

Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump was arrested Tuesday night in Hollywood on a traffic warrant stemming from a driving without a license charge. Stump was detained in a West Hollywood sheriff's station and held on $15,000 bail before being released at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Stump had this to say about the arrest:

"All I really have to say is ignorance of the law isn't innocence. I didn't want to give up my Illinois driver's license and was unaware that was a crime. It is, by the way, in the state of California. Lesson learned. I technically broke a law, so technically I deserve whatever I get. But man, is my mom gonna be pissed."

If Stump is convicted, he could be looking at upwards of six months in jail and/or $1,000 in fines.

So Many Dynamos guitarist quits

Alternative Press - Scott Heisel on 8/25/09 @ 11:27 PM - altpress.com

Guitarist Ryan Wasoba has announced that he has left St. Louis-based math rockers So Many Dynamos. His final recording with the band was this year's The Loud Wars, and his final shows were the two the group played with Harvey Danger in Chicago earlier this month.

Wasoba has posted a lengthy statement on the band's blog, which reads in part:

"A few months ago I was hit with the unfortunate realization that I no longer wanted to be in a touring rock band... I tried to keep my feelings to myself and push through, but it became harder every day.

At a hotel in Salt Lake City on our July tour I told the other guys that I think I need to quit the band, but no conclusions were made that evening. We never talked about it again, even though we were in a van together for three more weeks afterwards. We've never had less fun on tour.

About a week later, we met at a Denny's for coffee and we all agreed that the best thing to do would be to make a clean break, have me completely out and bring in somebody else to be a full time member."

That "somebody else" is Nathan Bernaix from the band Target Market; his debut shows with the band are listed below.

Sep 18 2009 7:00P Pygmalion Music Festival 2009 @ Blue's BBQ Urbana, Illinois
Sep 19 2009 12:00P Bouncefest 2009 - Mills Quad @ Millikin University Decatur, Illinois
