Minus The Bear announce SXSW shows, spring tour

With their new album, OMNI, scheduled to drop May 4 on Dangerbird, Minus The Bear have revealed their spring tour plans. First, MTB will play five shows in three days at this year's South By Southwest music festival in Austin Texas (details below). Then, the Seattle quintet will hit the road starting April 19 in Spokane, Washington, for a six-week U.S. tour. All dates below.

There's a good chance that I might just blow off other shows and be at EVERY one of these. Well, I might be late for the one @ Mellow Jonny's, as I'll hang at Stubbs to see Circa Survive. Or, I might just blow off MTB to see Fat Mike as Cokey the Clown! So stoked!

DragonForce part ways with frontman

British power metal band DragonForce have announced that they have split with lead singer ZP Theart. The band released the following statement :"It is with great regret that DragonForce announce a parting of the ways with singer ZP Theart. This is due to insurmountable differences of musical opinion but the rest of the band sincerely wishes ZP great success with his future projects."

The band are in the midst of writing their fifth album and are now in search of a new vocalist. Guitarist Herman Li said, "We are looking for a powerful, melodic singer to write a new chapter of DragonForce with us."

Chad Gilbert releases two new solo songs

New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert has posted two more songs under the What's Eating Gilbert name. "Devil In Me" and "I Wanna Hold You" are the fourth and fifth official solo songs Gilbert has posted for downloading. He also announced that he's holding a contest for fans to submit cover art for the songs. Submissions will be posted in two weeks and fans will be able to vote on the ones they most like. The Used schedule mini-tour with Chiodos this April

Remember when we posted those Bullet For My Valentine/Chiodos tour dates and said this would be Chiodos' first tour with new frontman Brandon Bolmer? Yeah, well, we fibbed: It turns out the Michigan sextet's true first tour back will be supporting three-time AP cover stars the Used for a series of gigs this April. Opening each show will be New Medicine. All currently confirmed dates are below; if more are added (and we're assuming there's at least a few we don't know about yet), we'll let you know:

Welsh metal outfit Bullet For my Valentine have a new album, Fever, dropping April 27 on Jive, so what better time to book a headlining tour? The May 9th show either has the wrong city or venue. The Diamond Ballroom is in Oklahoma City.

Travie McCoy announces release date for solo album

Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis (or "Travie," as he now goes by) McCoy has unveiled details for his upcoming solo album. Lazarus will drop June 8 via Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen. Pre-order details, tracklisting and more information will be announced shortly.

Contributors on the album include T-Pain, Bruno Mars, the Smeezingtons, Detail, the Stereotypes, Evan "Kidd" Bogart, Josh Abraham and Oligee. The first single from the album, "Billionaire" (featururing Bruno Mars) premieres today on MTV.com with a companion video to follow. You can hear the new song here.
