Alternative Press - Tim Karan on 3/4/10 @ 10:04 PM - altpress.com

Lucero have posted a statement revealing that they will have to reschedule their shows planned for this weekend as the result of a mugging in Augusta, Georgia. Guitarist Brian Venable and drummer Roy Berry were involved in the incident that happened last week, leaving Berry with a broken jaw.

The statement says, "Due to an injury to Roy, we're sorry to announce that this weekend's shows in Jackson and Huntsville have been cancelled and will be rescheduled. While on tour last week in Augusta, Roy and Brian were mugged and Roy ended up with a broken jaw; he'll be OK and appreciates all the well wishes as he recovers."

Our best wishes go out to Berry and the band. Anyone else have a message?

...or how much better Rise Or Die Trying was.

Goodhigh5
...or how Enemy of the World is just as good as Rise or Die Trying.

richardradical
rise or die trying was sick. this one seems a little soft for me. one step at a time just reminds me of new found glory's coming home

koobeeny
EOTW is a lot heavier, faster, and more energetic than Rise so I'm not sure how it could seem soft :P

Bob Bryar out of My Chemical Romance

Alternative Press - Scott Heisel on 3/3/10 @ 10:30 PM - altpress.com

What's been rumored for weeks has now been confirmed: Drummer Bob Bryar is no longer a member of My Chemical Romance. Guitarist Frank Iero confirmed the split on his blog, writing in part:

"As of 4 weeks ago, My Chemical Romance and Bob Bryar parted ways. This was a painful decision for all of us to make and was not taken lightly. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors and expect you all to do the same."

Bryar started off as MCR's drum tech and took over the throne in mid-2004 from original drummer Matt Pelissier. He can be heard on 2006's The Black Parade.

Iero also updated fans on the status of MCR's upcoming fourth album, writing, "We have been writing some very powerful new songs so this week the four of us entered the studio once again, and what has been ending up on tape each night is some of the most exciting and honest work we have ever created." Although originally expected out this spring, there is currently no title or release date for the band's new album.

who cares, a new drummer can't repair that shit stain

AMIngram
I'm not going to hear the end of this from my friend tomorrow...why would MCR do this to me?

saraallynx3
this sucks. bob seemed like a cool guy and was apart of a great band. but i'm sure they have their reasons. good luck on future endeavors bob! and good luck on the 4th album MCR.

phyre
I don't appreciate AP calling this "Bryar Booted." It sounds like a mutual split, if not Bob initiating the departure.

IDreamOfSleep
Augh, just get the album out, MCR. You don't even need to tour that much. Just let us bask in your glory one more time. That's all we need.

enmarwen
I threw up in my mouth...oh nevermind, it blew everywhere. people really still like this shit?

screamxsilently
enmarwen.... why are you even bothering to read this article if you hate them that much? It's stupid, keep your opinions to yourself if you don't have anything productive to say.

summerleecious
enmarwen STFU dipshit.

KhemicalRevenge
Why even read the article if you're going to bash the band? Sorry to see Bob go, but thing's happen. Good luck to Bob & MCR.

ihatethelettuce
i am glad that frank finally told us after four weeks >.> an explaination would be nice, not just speculation. i really do wish bob the best though. i've come to love him as much as the rest of the band. hopefully this won't affect the quality of the new album.

sinkthroughyourskin
#1 Who cares? #2 Who says people can't read what they want? Does one need to enjoy everything they read? #3 In 5 years from now, most people will be trying to distance themselves from MCR... i.e. "no... I never used to like those guys" Soooo the moral of the story is, stop caring so much about a drummer leaving a band... there's real problems out there people!

unperfectme
Bob :( Aw... I'll miss him...
