Paramore postpone two U.S. shows, drop off Reading/Leeds

Alternative Press - Scott Heisel on 8/22/06 @ 3:18 PM - altpress.com

Tennessee-based pop-rock act Paramore have been forced to cancel two of the dates on their ongoing headlining tour due to problems with singer Hayley Williams' voice. The affected shows are August 22 at the Living Room in Providence and August 23 at School of Rock in South Hackensack; both shows have been rescheduled to Sept. 27 and 28, accordingly. Ticket holders are advised to hold onto their existing tickets, as they will be honored.

"I was really hoping I could make it through the first leg of the tour, but due to the problems I am having with my voice, we decided to take this week off so I can heal," Williams said in a statement. "We will pick back up in Seattle to finish the rest of the tour and we can't wait to be back out on the road to see all of you. We are all very sorry and we thank you for the support you have all shown."

Saosin on From First To Last: "We f**cking hate that band."

Alternative Press - Scott Heisel on 8/21/06 @ 2:52 PM - altpress.com

Post-screamo buzz band Saosin have been on the other end of the sh!t-talking stick for long enough, it seems: The band recently decided to lay down a little smack of their own in a recent interview.

When recently asked by punk-gossip website Absolutepunk.net what bands they couldn't stand, drummer Alex Rodriguez responded with, "From First To Last. We fucking hate that band, and you can print that, They're on our label. I think they're so clichéd."

Guitarist Justin Shekoski threw in his two cents on the matter, saying, "[From First To Last] is the kind of band that is going to be here today, gone tomorrow."

The band also listed Aiden and Panic! At The Disco as bands they didn't like in the interview, the full text of which can be found here. Saosin's self-titled debut album comes out Sept. 26 via Capitol (details); they're currently on the road with Mikoto, the Outline and Forgive Durden (dates).
