Singles going steady
Off With Their Heads - All Things Move Toward Their EndPosted by Laila Hanson on 22-May-08 @ 04:37 PM
[4/5]For the past year, these Minneapolis punks have been churning out 7-inches like they're going out of style-enough to fill an entire record, in fact. All Things Move Toward Their End compiles the band's singles and compilation contributions from 2006 in one place, and it's a pretty sweet place to be. Like an even dirtier version of fellow Twin Cities residents Dillinger Four, Off With Their Heads have a knack for writing insanely catchy songs and then playing them in as endearingly sloppy a manner as possible; even sub-par (by the band's own admission) tracks like "Call The Cops" are punk-house-ready party jams. At their best, Off With Their Heads are what a great punk band should be: Capable of writing genuinely good songs, and careless enough to perform them with the kind of abandon that makes rock 'n' roll awesome.
