[3.5/5]Unlike their glowstick-dazzled peers, England's Does It Offend You, Yeah? don't approach the dancefloor with the precision of a surgeon. Rather, the gloriously retro You Have No Idea is what the last Rapture album should have been: A non-stop barrage of disco squiggles, vocoded vocals and clashing keyboards that's sloppy, reckless fun. "Dawn Of The Dead" is either a VHS Or Beta clone or a tune inspired by cheesy '80s teen films where an underdog triumphs over adversity, while the New Romantic-like album closer is cheekily (and appropriately) titled "Epic Last Song." Hints of Duran Duran's foppish pop, Oingo Boingo's dizzying creativity and Daft Punk's robot-funk abound--although No Idea is far less interesting when DIOY,Y? play straightforward dance music in the vein of Justice and Simian Mobile Disco. Just listen to the spazzy "Let's Make Out," a riotous explosion of frazzled electro-punk and Robert Smith-goes-hysterical vocals that's perfect for drunken spit-swapping.
