Canada’s most brutal band seek and destroy.

Cursed - III: Architects Of Troubled Sleep

Cursed aren't fucking around. While most metal acts seem to constantly churn out releases, Cursed have only released three albums since forming out of the ashes of Canadian grindcore icons the Swarm in 2001. While the band aren't going to raise too many eyebrows with their latest, III: Architects Of Troubled Sleep, the most amazing part about the disc is the fact the band have somehow managed to sound even angrier with age. There are a few surprises on Architects Of Sleep-such as the detuned gloom dirges "III" and "Unnecessary Person"-but for the most part, songs like the chaotic "Dead Air At The Pulpit" and the blast-beat-laden "Night Terrors" sound like the soundtrack for a riot. Which, when you consider the title of the album and the George W. Bush soundclips that permeate the intro, is probably exactly what they're going for. (GOODFELLOW) Jonah Bayer
