Slipknot’s #0 sets the wheels of steel aflame.
DJ Starscream - The New LeaderPosted by Tim Karan on 06-Dec-06 @ 02:37 PM
[4/5] Metalheads know that Sid Wilson, a.k.a. #0, jumps off tall PA systems and mans the decks for Slipknot. But way before he rocked a gas mask, Wilson was known as DJ Starscream, who helped push the boundaries of music in a crew called Sound Proof Coalition. Though he found himself a day job in a metal band, he's always kept his Starscream persona alive on the side, gaining some acclaim for his various mix discs and mash-ups. It's no surprise then, that The New Leader is one of most versatile records you'll ever hear. The dude knows no boundaries; one minute it's hardcore jungle, the next, he's raising the bar of excellence with his scratch skills. And don't fret, metal fans: Wilson manages to work that into the mix alongside downtempo tracks and a lone classical (!) number. Slipknot might pay the bills, but Wilson's got a pretty sweet backup plan. (N2O) Eddie Fleisher
