How did your role in The Last House On The Left come about? It seems like the polar opposite of Superbad.
[Laughs.] It is the polar opposite in a lot of ways, but the part I was playing was just so quirky and funny-and it was a challenge for me to have to do all the torture and chasing, too. I think it's good to challenge yourself every once in awhile.
We got scared just watching the trailer. Were there any moments during filming when you were genuinely scared?
A little bit. It's weird that you actually get sucked up into it when you're filming because there's a camera in your face, but somehow it still comes across as terrifying in the moment. All of the chase scenes running through the woods were especially scary.
Were there any scenes in this movie that were as terrifying as doing a sex scene with Michael Cera?
[Laughs.] No, nothing quite as intimidating as a sex scene with Michael Cera, but it's a pretty physical movie, so we all had our war wounds by the end, which is a weird thing to happen and call it your job.
What bands have you been listening to lately?
Well, I've been listening to the National and Wilco, as well as a lot of older music like Paul Simon. I like to listen to everything, but those are my favorites.
Speaking of favorites, I'm sure people still quote their favorite lines from Superbad to you. Have you had any awkward encounters
The day I moved to Los Angeles somebody said to me, "I have a smooth cock, too" and I didn't quite know how to respond. It was a stranger walking past me and I was like, "Oh... Good to know! That's inappropriate." But for the most part people are like, "Are you that girl who threw up?" It's nice.
CHEAT SHEET>> After warming our hearts as Becca in SUPERBAD, Martha MacIsaac is ready to rip them out of our chests in this month's horror flick THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT and the upcoming Val Kilmer sci-fi thriller THE THAW.
