STARS: Karl Urban, Jay Tavare, Moon Bloodgood, Clancy Brown WHAT'S WHAT? Based loosely upon a 1987 Oscar-nominated Norwegian film called Ofelas, Pathfinder details a pre-Columbus Viking invasion of North America in which the Norsemen leave behind a small child who grows up to become their undoing. SO WHAT? Change the Vikings to witches and bat-thingies and the Native Americans to, like, friendly eagles, and this looks like an updated version of The Beastmaster. - J. Bennett |
