MPD-Psycho Vol. 1
|
[4/5] Remember the movie Se7en and that scene at the end with Brad Pitt, Kevin Spacey and the box? Imagine if somehow, inside that box, was something worse than Gweneth Paltrow's you know what. MPD (which stands for Multiple Personality Disorder) Psycho is just as disturbing-and way more graphic-than the aforemtioned David Fincher film, which is saying a lot. The artwork, done by Sho-U Tajima (the character designer for the anime segment in Kill Bill Vol. 1) features scenes so brutal, it inspired a live-action spin-off by Takashi Miike, the infamously violent and misogynistic director of films like Audition and Ichi: The Killer. MPD-Psycho's story follows a split personality, ex-detective protagonist named Kobayashi Yousuke who is yanked from prison to help with the investigation of a serial killer. The only problem? Yousuke himself just might be the suspect he's looking for. Where's Morgan Freeman when you need him? |
